Fee structures by platform
Headline commission and fixed per-order fees applied by the calculator. Last reviewed October 15, 2026.
Card prices are live from the CardLedger dataset — TCGplayer market values and Cardmarket trend prices, refreshed as the dataset updates. Fees are each marketplace's current published schedule at the review date; marketplaces do not publish a fee API, and category, account status, buyer location, sales tax and payment method can change the real amount. Always confirm the current fees with the marketplace before selling.
Which platform has the lowest fees for selling cards?
Direct in-person sales have effectively zero fees, while Cardmarket private sales run around 5%. eBay and TCGplayer typically land between 9% and 13.25% once final value fees and per-order charges are included. The comparison table accounts for your chosen account tier.
How is effective fee percentage calculated?
Effective fee percentage is (selling fees + outbound shipping you pay − shipping collected from the buyer) ÷ sale price. It shows the real cost of a sale after shipping economics, not just the headline commission.
Does item weight matter for fees?
Weight drives your shipping cost, which directly reduces net payout. Heavier lots or graded slabs cost more to ship and can swing which platform is most profitable. Use the weight slider to estimate shipping.
Should I offer free shipping?
Free shipping improves conversion and eBay search placement but removes the shipping reimbursement from your payout. The calculator lets you toggle it so you can see the exact hit to your net profit.
Does the calculator use live card prices?
Yes. Pick a card and the calculator pulls its live TCGplayer market value and Cardmarket trend price from the CardLedger dataset. Cardmarket is converted to USD at the live ECB EUR→USD rate, and you can choose whether every platform uses one sale price or each platform's own live market.
Where do the fee figures come from?
Fees are each marketplace's current published schedule (last reviewed October 15, 2026). Marketplaces do not expose a public fee API, and the final charge depends on your category, account status, buyer location, sales tax and payment method, so confirm the current fees with the marketplace before you list.
