Understanding price movers
How are these movers calculated?
Each card's momentum is its 7-day average sold price compared with its 30-day average (Cardmarket, EUR). Cards trading meaningfully above their 30-day average appear as gainers; those below appear as losers. Only cards with an active market value over $2 are included, to filter out low-liquidity noise.
Why do a card's short- and long-term averages differ?
The 7-day window reacts to recent sales while the 30-day window smooths them out. A large positive gap means demand has picked up in the last week; a large negative gap means recent sales have cooled relative to the month.
Should I chase the top gainers?
Not blindly. Short-term spikes can reverse quickly, especially after a hype cycle or a buyout. Use the momentum list as a watchlist and confirm with the card's full price page and recent sold listings before buying or selling.
